In 1988, Correos de Chile issued two sets of definitive stamps that are some of the most interesting Easter Island stamps from a philatelic point of view. One set was salmon color and the other one yellow, and both sets share the same motifs: a Moai Kava Kava (a carved wooden Moai) and a Tangata Manu (Bird Man) petroglyph. What make these stamps interesting is that they were issued in booklet form and they were surcharged in two different occasions (1989 and 1991). These and the fact that they are setenant stamps (two different designs printed together) makes possible to find a lot of combinations between the two stamps. Some of these setenant stamps are shown here.
